EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM SPURS BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT
It's something many fans thought they'd never hear, but the striker's contract has been terminated by mutual agreement.
Adebayor has not played for the club this season and was left out of the Premier League squad and was rumoured to be on both West Ham and Aston Villa's shortlist in the last transfer window.
"We wish Emmanuel well for the future," is all a statement on tottenhamhotspur.com said.
The striker had been at Tottenham since joining from Man City in 2012 having spent the 2011/12 season on loan when he scored 17 Premier League goals. He did have his moments in a Spurs shirt, however, like his double against Dnipro in the Europa League in 2014 which helped Spurs through to the last 16
