7 Die, 5 Injured As Building Collapses On Pupils In Jos

A storey building housing an Islamic
school along Gero road, Bukuru, Jos,
collapsed last night on pupils, as they
were receiving Islamic lectures in
the evening. The name of the school
was given as Abu Naib Islamic
School.

According to the Zonal Coordinator,
North Central of the National
Emergency Management Agency,
NEMA, Mohammed Abdulsalam,
rescue team of the agency arrived
the scene and recovered seven
bodies, while five people were
rescued but with severe injuries.
Eyewitnesses said more deaths would
have been recorded, but it was
raining that Sunday evening, which
made a lot of pupils absent from
class.
